- Official Improv Coach for the annual NW Big Band Workshop, the award-winning Sequim High School Jazz Band, the award-winning NW Winds Homeschool Jazz Band, and the Jazz in the Olympics (JITOS) Youth Band.
- Taught woodwinds at Mills Music Stores in Bothell, Redmond & Lynnwood, WA to students of all ages & abilities.
- Develop sound fundamentals, productive practice habits, jazz improvisation skills, and a joyful attitude toward music.
- Produced a book & CD collection of 54 jazz etudes designed to teach students to play with a more musical approach & creative self expression.
- Studied music at UCLA & the University of Redlands and privately with Mitchell Lurie (clarinet), Bill Green (saxophone & flute), and Al Learned (ear training).
- Artist / Clinician for Buffet Clarinets (formerly The Music Group, Inc. and Boosey & Hawkes, Inc.).
- Lead “Jazz for Youth” school assembly featured in over 100 schools throughout western Washington.
- Developed “New Ears Resolution“ ear training method for individual students & group classes (book & CD).
- Former junior high band & science teacher.
- Self-produced 6 CD recordings.
- Charter member of the band “HONK!”, with 5 LP & C.D. recordings during its 25-year life. Toured with the Beach Boys, Loggins & Messina, Chicago, Santana, and others before audiences of 10,000+. We still perform reunion concerts for 500+ fans.
- Appear on 15 other LP’s and CD’s.
- Perform throughout Washington at churches, restaurants, weddings, corporate events, etc.
- Serve as church music director, played for international church conferences as well as 70+ NW congregations, appear on CD’s by Andy Park, Kevin Prosch, Brian Doerksen, and other Vineyard recording artists.
